''In Feb 2015 I decided to do the Desert Knight Mountain Bike Tour, which takes place in the /Ai/Ais-Richtersveld Transfrontier Park in Namibia in September every year. This unique adventure consists of five days of cycling covering 280 kilometres and a day of paddling along the Orange River. A key feature of Desert Knights is that much of the cycling takes place in the late afternoon and into the setting sun and rising full moon, set in spectacular landscape.
I had never ridden a mountain bike before! I had my first ‘lesson’ with Lisa in February and continued training with Lisa every week, until September. Lisa was outstanding – she prepared me in every way for the tour – she taught me technically how to handle mountain-bike terrain and mentored me on diet and fitness. For me, it was a wonderful achievement and a lot of fun, and I can only say I would never have done it without Lisa’s technical expertise, knowledge and mentorship.'' Clare Stirzaker 2016
